This book is the first comprehensive retrospective of Alexander de Cadenet's twenty-five years of art practice, spanning photography, painting and sculpture. His works are both profound and humorous, as if directed by a mischievous jester spirit We see how his art combines inquiries into the big philosophical questions of life, death and the enigma of art itself with an idiosyncratic, 'post-pop' aesthetic.
Author Edward Lucie-Smith was born in 1933 at Kingston, Jamaica. He moved to Britain in 1946 and was educated at King's School Canterbury followed by Merton College, Oxford. He is now an internationally-known art critic and historian, as well as being a published poet and a practicing photographer.
